  • @moviegeeks haha, I saw IHOP on that Sundance list and I thought the same thing. in reply to moviegeeks #
  • Just made it through about an hour of Rossellini's Rome Open City. I don't think I'm in the right mood for Italian Neo-Realism Tonight… #
  • I'm going to put that on hold while I watch my first episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion, let's see what all this hoopla is about. #
  • While we're all giving our two cents on a Spider Man reboot, I'll say this, I don't think any of Raimi's Spidey films are all that great. #
  • Sure, Spiderman 2 is a lot of fun at parts, but I never really liked the CG Spidey flying around the city. #
  • However, what I really really don't want, is a back to high school Spiderman movie, they're moving in the wrong direction. #
  • @Devindra I knew I was going to lose some friends with that. in reply to Devindra #
  • Also, I never found any of the Osborne's believable, or their motivations. #
  • @jenyamato Yeah, I'm late to the party. in reply to jenyamato #
  • The only Spiderman I ever really liked was Spiderman and his Amazing Friends. WIth Ice Man and Firestar. and that X-men Episode. #
  • I really liked the episode with Swarm, that super-villain that was made up of bees. #
  • @Vactor are you serious? Magneto and Strykers motivations are absolutely more clear, and more believable that Norman Osborns. in reply to Vactor #
  • @Vactor I would rather watch X3 than Spiderman 1 or 3 any day of the week. in reply to Vactor #
  • When they do this Spiderman reboot, they need to get Kraven the Hunter all up in that. We need a badass villain. #
  • @Vactor Bone is amazing! Are you reading it in color or black and white? in reply to Vactor #
  • @Vactor I've tried rewatching Spiderman 3 a couple of times, and I can't make it all the way through. in reply to Vactor #
  • @Vactor I didn't defend any of the story telling elements, just the technical aspects. in reply to Vactor #
  • @Vactor in case this means anything, I do own all three Spider-Man films, even a 3 disc Target Edition of Spidey 3. in reply to Vactor #
  • Instead of reacting so negatively to my Spider-Man thoughts, why not bring up substantial points of defense? #
  • @Vactor it was to everyone, but sure Justin, go for it, convince me these are amazing cinema. in reply to Vactor #
  • @Vactor they're not Blu-ray discs, you may not want them 😉 in reply to Vactor #
  • @FatboyRoberts I think that's still out of the question, really out of the question. in reply to FatboyRoberts #
  • Hopefully, in the reboot, we'll get an uber-nerdy Peter Parker who builds his own web shooters. #
  • Will the Spider-Man reboot be in 3D? With webs shooting all up in our faces? #
  • @FatboyRoberts It would be sweet if the Avengers movie could have the Civil War stuff, possibly in a sequel? With Spider-Man and all… in reply to FatboyRoberts #
  • @foxtotally hmmm, I think I would want Clancy Brown to voice Thanos. in reply to foxtotally #
  • RT @foxtotally: How's about pooling every Marvel movie character made thus far and doing an Infinity Gauntlet flick? #
  • @foxtotally doesn't Thanos kill off half of the Earth to please Death in Infinity Gauntlet? in reply to foxtotally #
  • How about we get some sweet Valiant movies? Like XO Manowar, Turok, Magnus Robot Fighter, Solaris, Harbinger, Rai, Bloodshot…. #
  • I don't remember, was Kraven ever considered as a villain for the Spider-Man films? Bruce Campbell would have made an awesome Hunter #
  • @rickchung I think they could make it work, a variation of an insane hunter dressed in animal skins. in reply to rickchung #
  • I really think I should have watched this Evangelion show about 15 years ago. I love the concept, but this dialogue is killing me. #
  • @sepinwall can we blame V for Juliet's death? in reply to sepinwall #
  • @Vactor I'm really going to try and rewatch the films for you, but my stack of films I need to write up for the blog is starting to worry me in reply to Vactor #
  • @Vactor once you've finished Bone, be sure to read the Charles Vess illustrated book: Rose. in reply to Vactor #
  • All this talk of Spider-Man got me reminiscing about the whole Marvel 2099 launch. I loved those damned foil-covers. #
  • @Vactor @Matt_Grigsby I loved his retractable finger talons, I used to imagine I had them when I would think about scaling walls. #
  • @foxtotally is that when Doom traveled forward in time? in reply to foxtotally #
  • @foxtotally I think some of my favorite foil covers of olde have to be those Shadowhawk #1's, I know you're a fan. in reply to foxtotally #
  • Alright all you real comic nerds: what was your favorite gimicky comic book cover of the early 90s? #
  • @ElisabethRappe is that when he got his adamantium ripped out? in reply to ElisabethRappe #

  • @landon_speak I was a huge Wild C.A.T.s fan too! I used to own this amazing holo-foil poster that I had framed in my room. in reply to landon_speak #

  • @RoboSexual Yeah, thats a good one too! http://bit.ly/832KUQ in reply to RoboSexual #
  • @landon_speak yeah, I thought that cartoon kinda sucked, it didn't capture the awesomeness that were @jimlee00's amazing illustrations. in reply to landon_speak #
  • @landon_speak I actually dressed up as Grifter for Halloween once back in 92 or 93. I made his mask out of a red bandana and a sharpie. in reply to landon_speak #
  • @landon_speak did you read the X-men/WildCATS crossover books? Those were a lot of fun, each with incredible art. in reply to landon_speak #
  • Man, why does Europe get all of my childhood cartoons on DVD? MASK, Dino Riders, Visionaries, I want those! #

  • @ElisabethRappe I also want to compare it to a certain Japanese swordsman, without actually naming it, thus spoiling it. in reply to ElisabethRappe #

  • @devincf I have to disagree with your argument that the creature work was on par with AOTC, all of the creatures of Pandora clearly have… #
  • @devincf … traits that lead to a common ancestor. Time was taken by the folks at Weta in designing them from the inside-out. #
  • @devincf While they may be similar to animals on Earth, the actual design work, in linking them together by common traits, shows effort. in reply to devincf #
  • @devincf It shows much more effort than what went into those three beasts shown at the end of Attack of the Clones. in reply to devincf #
  • @devincf It's not as simple as taking an animal that exists, and then trading parts with other animals. in reply to devincf #
  • RT @CriterionCast: [Blog Post] The CriterionCast – Episode 017.6 – Disc 3 – [The 11th Annual Butt Numb-A-Thon] http://bit.ly/8WQcpT #

  • @rejects Dang, I want to visit the set of Predators. in reply to rejects #
  • So which of the March 2010 Criterion releases are you most excited about? http://bit.ly/7jf0y1 #
  • @thefilmtalk I had a phase in high school where I really got into that movie, and read the book, was just obsessed with most spy stuff. in reply to thefilmtalk #
  • Alright I'm here at Bridgeport, in line, ready for some blue aliens. #
  • Alright! Twitter is back, now I can talk about how much I loved Avatar! #
  • So, here are my thoughts: This movie is a proof of concept that a kick ass Thundercats movie is possible. Witty eh? #
  • Yes, obviously the special effects are worth the price of admission, however high they may be. #
  • No, the dialogue and characters aren't anything to write home about, but they are perfectly adequate. Except of course for unobtanium. #
  • Two worst things in my opinion: 1 Giovanni Ribisi's character, cartoonishly evil. 2 Unobtanium, how can you speak that with a straight face. #
  • So, in conclusion, I am going to see this movie at least two more times in theaters, buy the blu-ray, and marathon the special features. #
  • Oh wait, two favorite parts: 1 The animals, especially their sounds. 2 Seeing all the memorable Weta names in the credits. Gino Acevedo FTW! #
  • @Devindra I'm more excited about watching hours and hours of the making of this movie than watching it in 2d. in reply to Devindra #
  • Also, I want LOTR style commentary on this disc release, 4 commentary tracks! Plus a picture in picture of the pre-rendered stuff. #
  • Seriously, unobtanium? I can't believe that made it to the final draft. #
  • @Devindra they can be blamed for using it, when they could have called it something like pandorium, or pandorite. or anything else in reply to Devindra #
  • @FatboyRoberts it just felt like a big wink at the nerdy audience, in a movie where I didn't want to be winked at. in reply to FatboyRoberts #
  • @FatboyRoberts what are you guys showing tomorrow night? in reply to FatboyRoberts #
  • Oh, my other favorite part: Sully's atrophied human legs. Creepy as hell, I want to see some making of footage of those. #
  • @FatboyRoberts what time are you going to the screening? We have the podcast but I might make a late showing. in reply to FatboyRoberts #
  • @FatboyRoberts that sounds like a manageable screening time to me, I'll definitely try. in reply to FatboyRoberts #
  • So, do movie theaters that show 3D films still hunt for people trying to pirate it? They should just point and laugh. #
  • Oh, I get why they used it, but was the whole twin brother thing really worth the exposition? #
  • For all you Wired subscribers, there is a pretty awesome article on The Asylum in this new issue. #
  • I want to change my Twitter name, but all the variations of my name are taken, any thoughts hivemind? #
  • @Instanthunter dang, that ones taken too! in reply to Instanthunter #
  • @headgeek666 We're chatting about Butt Numb A Thon live right now over at http://criterioncast.com/live if you want to join us. #

  • We're broadcasting live right now! Our episode 18, on Blast of Silence. Over at http://criterioncast.com/live #
  • We're still broadcasting, discussing the new Rashomon print over at http://criterioncast.com/live our Disc 2 of Blast of SIlence. #
  • Thanks to everyone who showed up in the chatroom for the first full length live @CriterionCast episode. It was a lot of fun, we'll do more! #
  • So, Avatar is playing at the Roseway at 10:30 in 3D for $9. I want to see it again, are you going too? #
  • @willschiff I don't think it was a gimmick at all. in reply to willschiff #
  • Oh man, do I stay in, watch Inglourious Basterds on Blu-ray again and upgrade to WordPress 2.9, or see Avatar again. Such choices in life… #
  • So have any of you read / listened to the audio book of the new Michael Crichton Pirate book? Any good? #
  • @FatboyRoberts that sucks dude, we're getting ready to head up to the Roseway, see you there? in reply to FatboyRoberts #
  • Alright Portland, we're at the Roseway for a second viewing of Avatar! Get out here! It's going to be epic. #
  • @KarenABorromeo well, I'm at the theater, for Avatar again. Take that for what you will. in reply to KarenABorromeo #
  • Why yes, the second viewing of Avatar was still flipping amazing. I noticed all kinds of little touches that I want to share with you all. #
  • Did you notice the fingers? The human/avatars have 5 fingers, whereas the Na'vi only have 4 fingers… #
  • Also, look closely at all of the species of creatures, they all clearly have similar features, hinting at common ancestors! #
  • I really hope they produce a sort of "Walking with Dinosaurs" style documentary for the bonus materials for the disc releases. #
  • Also, if you're going to the Roseway Theater, don't sit too far back, you want the screen to fill your entire field of vision… #
  • The more screen fills your field of vision, the more immersed you'll feel. The better the 3d will suck you in. #
  • It's also interesting how with the 3D, if someone blocks a section of the screen, or walks in front of you, it breaks the illusion. #
  • It fills me up with so much hope how each time the credits roll, the audience erupts in applause. Science fiction FTW! #
  • So, "the Company" in Avatar is Secfor, is that website "secforinternational.com" a part of the viral marketing? #
  • I think to tide me over until a blu-ray release of Avatar, I'm just going to rewatch the Skull Island scenes from Peter Jacksons King Kong. #
  • @amazon you are failing me today, with this replacement I am trying to get. I don't want a refund, I want to wait until the item is in stock #
  • Amazon is totally failing me today with trying to get a replacement of my 400 Blows @Criterion blu-ray that was damaged. #

  • After watching tons of Alton Brown talking about veggies, I am now about to show Charmaine North by Northwest for the very first time! #
  • Dang, people weren't kidding about this new North by Northwest transfer, this movie looks great. #
  • Hey all you movie friends heading to Sundance, do you know of any available couches for Travis and Rudie? We're figuring out the lodging… #

  • @Devindra @kateyrich that's what its like in Portland when it snows, you better get out and play while its still fresh. #
  • @DrewAtHitFix perhaps you can drop a few hints, and let the twitter-verse play a guessing game? Maybe 20 Questions-esque? in reply to DrewAtHitFix #
